Please Help Chuck Dobrowolski and Family.
Late in 2018, Chuck received the life altering diagnosis of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Essentially, ALS robs its victims of the ability to walk, dress themselves, talk, swallow, and ultimately breathe. All while leaving the mind perfectly intact. Already, Chuck has lost the use of his left arm and other areas are progressively deteriorating rapidly.
ALS has no cure and no effective treatment. The average lifespan from diagnosis is three to five years. Because every individual’s experience is different with ALS, there are a lot of unknowns for him and his family. He is focused on fighting the disease and delaying the progression of permanent paralysis.
Chuck is happily married to Paula of 22 years and a loving father to his daughter Lily, 13 years old. He has made it his purpose to be the financial provider and place his family first. Over the course of his employment, Chuck has demonstrated these same family-like attributes with his coworkers. Chuck has made it his goal to ensure the journeyman and apprentices are receiving the best knowledge and training that will put them on the path to be a successful Electrician.
During this journey, Chuck and his family will face extraordinary medical and incidental expenses. Additional large expenses may include arranging his home accessible to meet his medial challenges, feeding tubes, in-home care, long-term clinical trials, and technological devises to help offset muscle paralysis. Not knowing how long Chuck’s fight will last, this will leave a tremendous burden on Chuck and his family.
ALS has limited Chuck’s abilities to provide the life he has diligently worked for his family and his daughter’s future education. We would also like to give a portion of the money raised to go toward his daughter’s college fund. His daughter dreams to be a Physical Therapist.
We hope, with the help of his family, friends and co-workers, to assist Chuck in continuing to support his family and cover his Medical expenses. We thank you for your generosity to help Chuck and his family.
