Batt. Chief (ret) Richard Duncan Medical Needs

My name is Mike Henderson and I’m starting this GoFundMe to assist my brother-in-law Richard Duncan(my sister Regina’s husband) with some medical needs.

Richard is a retired Battalion Chief from the Georgetown (Ky) Fire Dept, having served over 20 years as a volunteer first, then a full-time FF. He also worked several years as an EMT for the local ambulance service.

One month ago he had surgery on his neck to fix a previous surgery. Following that surgery he was doing well but then he couldn’t use his legs at all when he was trying to get in the car to go home!

Another surgery was performed to remove a blood clot and over several hours post-op he lost the use of his hands!

He is now in a rehab facility making small progress. He has to come home on August 20 (insurance) and he’s going to need several adaptations to his house and vehicle to make it possible to function while he hopefully improves.

We’re asking for donations to help with all the associated expenses of dealing with a life-changing event. Things such as a vehicle adaptation, a new ramp, in-home long-term care, structural changes to doorways, etc.

Please help this faithful public servant live his life to the fullest without the financial worries that can accompany his condition.
