Bring Louisiana Back
Donation protected
Friends,
I'm Andrew Upah - a New Jersey native turned Texas transplant who watched from afar as our neighbors to the East suffered brutally from prolonged rains last month.
Although the flood waters have subsided and the news coverage has waned, the brave people of Louisiana are only just getting started on rebuilding their homes and their lives.
Tomorrow, September 4th, I'm packing my car with as many useful supplies as possible and driving straight to some of the worst-hit parts of Baton Rouge. Tens of thousands of homes have been ruined, and they need our help. Partnering with some great people and organizations already on the ground, I am going to lend a hand however I can.
Planning to get down and dirty, this beach boy is throwing on some jeans (my favorite) and swapping out my flip-flops for steel-toed boots. Now I just gotta go buy some boots... :)
I am covering all of my expenses in addition to donating whatever supplies I can get my hands on, but I'd like to raise some money to help homeowners rebuild and to donate directly to those in need. I will document all my purchases and donations via Facebook so no one thinks there are any shennanigans. Any monetary donations will be made via cash/gift card (Lowe's, Home Depot, Walmart, etc.).
I hope you can donate $25, $50, $100 or more to help our fellow Americans get back on their feet. Even if you can't donate, I hope you'll share this link with others so we continue to spread awareness and not forget our brethren down South. If you can, please donate by 12PM on Tuesday, when this campaign will be closed. Every single dollar donated will be DIRECTLY donated to the relief efforts in Louisiana by yours truly (watch it all happen on Facebook).
Thank you friends, for taking the time to read this - please spread the word and be sure to follow along to see, directly, how your donations will make an impact.
#AmericaStrong,
Andrew Upah
P.S. I understand some may be uncomfortable donating in this manner. At the very least, let's continue to raise awareness that our fellow Americans need our help. Visit volunteerlouisiana.gov for other ways you can help.
