Short version, I am still terrified being in a car after I was in a car accident almost 2 years ago. My Sequoia was t-boned in an intersection which caused my car to spin and ultimately, flip over. I am still trying to recover mentally, physically and financially.
Fast forward, I was given an opportunity to be given a tonkinese kitten (known for their dog like characteristics and ability and willingness to be trained) by a breeder who related to my story. Batman is currently being socialized and trained in Virginia, and will be making his way home to me in mid-September.
Unfortunately, the person that hit me had minimum coverage, so I have been left with the cost of buying another car, many copayments for MRI’s/pain drs/chiropractors/pt/injections/ etc for my neck and back. The money raised is to cover his flight to me and training sessions here (company shown in picture).). My biggest struggle when triggered is digging my nails into my skin, so he’s already learning to distract me from that type of behavior!
I’m determined to get past this and stop saying no to things because I’m too nervous (I missed parents weekend, Ava’s shows, trips with friends…)
Here is a link to the harness we’re hoping to use:
i ill also be saving for this system. The bag is also a backpack, car seat, airline approved for travel, etc. The stroller is to give my back a break!
Thank you for reading my story!
Lanie
