2021 Batey 106 Playground
Donation protected
The Saugatuck High School Interact Club is attempting to raise $5,000 in order to build a playground for the kids in Batey 106. In January 2022, 21 students will be traveling to La Romana, and they will be pouring cement, building a cinder-block wall, and helping to construct this playground in addition to teaching some classes in the school.
Since 2012, the club has been working in partnership with the Saugatuck-Douglas Rotary Club to send over 70 Saugatuck High School students to do service projects in the Dominican Republic across seven different trips. Student-led efforts have led to the creation of two community latrines as well as three classrooms (several working with the Rockford High School Interact Club) in Batey 106.
No raffles, sweepstakes, giveaways, or returns on investment are offered in exchange for any donations made to this GoFundMe.
The Saugatuck High School Interact Club is a local and international service organization. So far this academic year, the club has helped Rotary at the Putt Putt golf fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club, volunteered at the Saugatuck Center for the Arts fundraiser, worked with Childen’s First Lakeshore to provide snacks for middle and high school students at the high school, and planted dune grass at Douglas Beach in conjunction with the City of Douglas.
We'd like to thank our sponsors Everyday People Cafe, Saugatuck Brewing, Lulu Cadieux, Isabel's Eatery, the Nines Framing Studio, Lakeshore Pet Boutique, Borrowed Time, Wick's Park Bar and Grille, The Ravines Golf Club, Spectators Bar & Grill, Glik's, and BAM!
