Bates’ Anti Racism Coalition Fundraiser

We believe in justice and stand with all communities facing racism and police brutality. We are raising funds from students, parents, teams, staff, and all members of the Bates community that feel this way too.  This fundraiser is organized by a coalition of Bates students and centers the Africana, Black Students Union, Caribbean Students Association clubs.

We are donating to these organizations:
Color of Change
Liberation Farms Somali Bantu Community Association (based in Lewiston/Auburn)

For those who can afford to, donating money to frontline communities is the first step. Unlearning racist ideology and privilege are life long projects.

See our full letter here .

We will distribute this money by withdrawing the final amount into the organizer's personal bank account and then sending individual checks or online donations to the three organizations. The money will be spent at their discretion to support their mission. Each donation will come with a letter explaining that this was a collective effort by the Anti-Racism Coalition and all those who donated.

Thank you for joining us.
