Armond Baskin is a friend of mine. We went to Middle School and High School together. We played sports together. He was a stellar athlete. Somewhere in our early twenties we lost touch, but we stayed connected through facebook. I found out through Armonds facebook posts that he had kidney failure. I was confused as to how a 37 year old healthy man could be going through this, so I reached out to him. He told me about all the family and friends he'd lost over the past couple of years and how it had taken a toll on his mental and physical health. He lost his father Ricky Baskin Sr., to cancer in February. The stress from his death subsequently led to his health deteriorating. High Blood pressure, the silent killer, had ultimately ruined his kidneys. Armond is married and has children. He is a family man. He once worked at GM to support his family, but due to his illness he can no longer work. He is currently going through dialysis 3 to 4 days a week for hours at a time. This combined with the side effects of the dialysis have rendered him unable to work to support himself and his family. To top it all off, he has additional stress from just everyday bills and medical costs. He told me that above all else, he just feels alone due to spending so much time in treatment. My heart goes out to my brother and I just want to help him out as much as I can. If you are able to give anything monitarily to help out him and his family, it would be greatly appreciated. Above all else, he currently needs a kidney. His blood type is O negative. If you think you might be an eligible donor, please contact him. Please say a prayer for his family or you can just reach out to him and let him know that you're thinking about him. Thank You!!!
