Today my husband watched helplessly as our family puppy slipped out behind him as he was taking out the garbage cans. Basil is so playful and excited when cars drive by. Before he could grab a hold of her she dodged into the street and was hit by a car.
Our 15year old son picked up Basil and placed her in our car so we can get her to the hospital. She was immediately put under anesthesia so the doctor could tend to her wounds. She was given pain meds and antibiotics.
Our vet is amazing. We were able to stay by her side through the entire procedure. It wasn’t until she was lifting her head tothe sound of her name that we felt it safeto leave and head home.
I have been out of work on medical disability so with my husband being the only one working our expense account
does not allow for this unexpected
Our Basil is a loved Saint Bernard
heeler mix that is registered and seen at her vet for regular immunizations and checkups. We would normally be able to
tend to her health issues but
unfortunately we were not prepared with added expenses this month has
brought us. We are able
to pay a portion of the expenses but
would appreciate any help the
community could offer.
Thank you for all your help.
