Help the children at Galaxy Foundation 256 stay in school – give them a future
For much more information, photos and names of everyone, or if you would like to donate directly in US dollars, British pounds, or euros, you are welcome to visit our website:
In the heart of Kampala, Uganda, Galaxy Foundation 256 is home to 35 children and young people who have no parents or relatives to care for them.
Despite their different backgrounds, they have found something invaluable here: a sense of family, belonging, and hope.
Their days are filled with music, dance, laughter, and dreams of a better future. But behind the joy there is a constant struggle – not only to be able to go to school, but also to manage everyday life.
A daily struggle
The foundation receives no government support and is entirely dependent on donations from people around the world.
At the same time, the cost of living in Uganda continues to rise, and every day is a challenge to meet the most basic needs: food, rent, clothing, hygiene, and medical care.
When a new school term begins, the greatest worry returns – not only about school fees, but whether there is enough at all to cover both education and the children’s daily needs.
Education – their way out of poverty
School is their chance for a different future. But every term brings new expenses: school fees, learning materials, school uniforms, shoes, and supplies.
The current goal is simple but life-changing:
to ensure that the children can stay in school – while also making sure their basic needs are met.
Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a real difference and goes directly to:
school fees and education
books and learning materials
food and daily necessities
clothing and hygiene items
medical care and treatment
This is more than a donation. It is an investment in both survival and the future – in dignity, security, and hope. Education is something no one can take away from them – it stays with them for life.
When they one day leave the foundation as young adults, it is their education that gives them the opportunity to stand on their own – but it is the support today that makes that journey possible.
And even if you cannot donate, sharing this campaign makes a huge difference.
Thank you ❤️

I have followed and maintained daily contact with the children in the foundation for over five years, mainly through video calls. Over time, they have become an important part of my life, and I have come to know them as children with dreams, joy, and hope.
Before getting involved, I was careful to verify the organization by speaking with people who had visited the place, and everything confirms that the children are safe, well cared for, and given the opportunity to attend school. At the same time, the need for support is great.
The biggest challenge is covering the recurring costs of the children’s education – school fees, school uniforms, and materials – which must be paid three times per year.
Support via TikTok has been valuable and completely crucial for their survival, but I also see it as very unstable. At times it is strong, but at other times it almost disappears for long periods, creating financial pressure.
I also see a significant risk that support through TikTok will decrease over time for all creators, making the situation very uncertain in the long term.
I am deeply grateful for every donation that comes in – every contribution, regardless of size, makes a real difference.
To ensure full transparency, we have separate bank accounts, one for this page and one for the website, where everything that comes in and everything that is paid out can be tracked.
To me, these children are not just a story – they are real lives with a future that depends on our choice to help.
With gratitude,
Ulrica

7. Quick facts about school in Uganda.
1. In Uganda, school starts at the age of 6.
2. The school year starts at the end of January or beginning of February and has 3 semesters.
3. Most children only attend primary education, which is 7 years.
4. In Uganda, 67% of pupils complete primary school.
Only 25% continue school after primary school
5. The class sizes are large, often 70-150 students per class, which is a problem for learning.
6. The age of students in Ugandan classes varies greatly, for example students in grade 3 can be between 7-16 years old.
The reasons can be that a pupil have to repeat classes because it is difficult to learn in such large classes, or not being able to pay school fees, or in other cases children coming from the street and not having attended school before.
7. Primary school is supposed to be free, but a small fee is often charged anyway.
They have to pay for all the school materials themselves, such as books, paper, pencils and so on, and most often school uniforms are required so in the end, school isn't free.
