To our entire Base Coat Community,
We hope you and your families are all staying well.
A few short weeks ago, we could never have imagined a world in which we would be ordered to close our beloved salons due to COVID-19 without knowing when they will reopen.
While we are deeply saddened that the business we spent eight years building is being threatened during these uncertain times, we are most heartbroken for our staff—who we’ve spent almost a decade protecting and fighting for.
Since March 17, we've provided ongoing pay to all our BASE COAT employees impacted by our temporary store closures through April 3rd but unfortunately we can no longer sustain BASE COAT financially past this date as we have been mandated to stay closed longer than the period we announced on March 16th and will now extend through April 30th to do our part collectively to help slow the spread of the virus. It's clear the situation is evolving and at this time we don't know for certain how long our stores will be closed.
Although federal relief may be coming in late April or May, our staff has bills to pay and families to feed now. Our primary concern is protecting the livelihoods of our staff, which is why we are here, asking for your support.
We have set up a GoFundMe called the BASE COAT Employee Relief Fund, which will help support our incredible front desk hospitality team and nail artists during this time. We are so grateful for any amount you can contribute to our amazing team that has given so much love to our communities across Denver and LA over the years.
100% of the funds made from this campaign will be distributed evenly and go directly to our incredibly hard working and wonderful employees and their families. We hope that everyone who loves Base Coat can consider giving so that we can meet our goal of 50K, which is close to a two week payroll for all of our 5 flagship locations.
We are working around the clock to ensure that Base Coat will come out on the other side of this even stronger. We are so grateful for everything our employees have committed to the company and will fight tooth and nail to make sure those contributions have a lasting legacy.
