Hi everyone, this August/September I’ve decided to take on one of the greatest physical and mental challenges of my life: trekking to Everest Base Camp – a journey that reaches 5,364 metres above sea level, through the breathtaking terrain of the Himalayas.

But I’m not just doing this for the adventure. I’m doing it to raise funds and awareness for a cause that affects us all: cancer research.

Why I’m Supporting the Australian Cancer Research Foundation

Cancer doesn’t discriminate. It touches families, friends, colleagues — and maybe even you. I’ve seen the impact cancer has on people I care about, and I know how devastating it can be. But I also believe in hope, in progress, and in the power of science to change lives.

That’s why I’m supporting the Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF) — an incredible organisation that funds cutting-edge cancer research projects. From breakthrough treatments to early detection, the ACRF gives researchers the tools they need to find new ways to prevent, diagnose, and treat cancer. Every dollar donated goes toward world-class research that could save lives.

The Journey

The trek to Everest Base Camp is no small feat.

• 130+ kilometres on foot

• Thin air and altitude sickness

• Freezing temperatures

• Long days of hiking, remote trails, and physical exhaustion

But every step I take, I’ll be thinking of the people who face cancer with more courage than I’ll ever need on this trail.
