Hello, my name is Raf Peeters and I'm the CEO of Qcify, a Belgian-American company. Our company assigns $500/sold machine for good causes, non-profits and social projects. That's how we got to know Tuki, a non-subsidized non-profit organization that is committed to supporting parents of children with life-threatening diseases financially, administratively, practically and emotionally. Through Tuki we were introduced to Bas Verheyden, a 17-year-old from Oostham (Belgium), who suffers from an extremely rare immune disease, and who is currently with his dad Kurt at Stanford in the US for tests and prep work for life-saving gene therapy. Mid-July they will return to Belgium for a couple of weeks and by the end of August Bas, his parents and his sibling will return to Stanford for 4 months. Bas' parents, besides having to deal with the disease, have been faced with incredible financial costs due to the travel, accommodations, and all other aspects related to this gene therapy treatment. But on top of this, they recently got the news that their health insurance will not cover the drip/infuses he needs to receive while in the US. That's why we want to step in and help them out through this fundraiser. So let me explain how the funds will be used: • Milestone 1 - $6,536: this money will go towards the first drip (infuse) he needs • Milestone 2 - $6,536: this money will go towards the second drip (infuse) he needs • Milestone 3 - anything beyond $13k: this will go towards helping them out with the accommodation during their 4-month stay in the USA during the gene therapy treatment We really hope we can get your support in order to help out this family and give them a break that they so hard need and deserve.
