Maddie was diagnosed with AML leukemia in February after being in and out of Golisano Children's Hospital with what they first thought were complications from covid a few weeks earlier. AML is aggressive and requires a longer course of treatment. Maddie and her family have just started this long and difficult road of chemotherapy, blood tests, monitoring and hospital stays.

 

Maddie, John, Kaitlyn and Jackson need your help! On top of what will be enormous medical bills and time away from 2-year-old Jack, John and Kait run Spotlight Arts in Fairport. Their small business depends almost entirely on their time and attention—both of which will be focused on Maddie during this difficult time. Their income from Spotlight is taking a huge hit alongside medical bills.

 

How can you help? If you're able to donate, money is the best way to help John and Kait right now. We can't begin to guess what their immediate or long-term expenses will be, but we know they will need our help. If you would rather donate through Venmo, Kait's Venmo is @Kaitlyn-Barthelmes.

* Gas cards to help cover trips to and from Golisano multiple times a day (there's a Sunoco near their house)

* Please donate blood! Maddie has already had two blood infusions and will most likely need more.
