I am Bart and Clayton's oldest cousin, Amy from the North. (Cleveland to be exact) I knew Bart since before I could remember and he could be tornado of energy. I knew Bart in all his glory. He had a way with animals, a daredevil spirit, and a smile that could melt your heart. Bart had a full 33 years of life that had some uphill struggles with a life-altering injury at 13, chronic pain, and addiction. We would also see the very best and watch the fun downhill glides that was the epitome of Bart. Snowboarding, whitewater rafting, concert going, Bama football watching and puppy cuddling. During his most trying times, he had a team of support to help carry his burden including his family, friends and some special organizations that took some weight off of the shoulders of Bart during the uphill battles and allow him to enjoy the downhill glides sooner and more often. The money we raise in Bart's memory will be split by his parents Ellen and Dave between 3 non-profits that were special to him and are still special to his immediate family. The programs will help others in their struggles and bring them closer to their own downhill glides.

University of Alabama addiction recovery program

a non profit that specializes in getting people that struggle with addiction to recovery. This non-profit helped Bart during his most trying points in the throes of addiction. He was able to get a fresh start with mentors and living facilities.

Shelby Humane Society

a non profit in Alabama that specializes in our beloved furry friends.

The Legacy of Hope

a non profit that specializes in organ transplant in the Alabama region. Bart's family was able to work with Legacy of Hope to give the most selfless gift of organ transplantation during the darkest of moments and give new life to families who are desperate for health in themselves or a family member.
