Thank you so much for considering to donate to The Landau's cause. This is some background information about their life.
Barry and Giselle Landau have been married for 40 years. Within those years they have spent time setting down their roots in Texas, Connecticut, New Jersey and Florida. They are a dynamic couple who share their love and kindness with so many of whom they meet.
They have 2 children, 2 grandchildren with 1 on the way! Barry's grandkids are the meaning to his life and joy to his day. The love and happiness these little ones share with their Poppy is unmatched. He can't wait for grand baby #3!
Unfortunately last year Barry was diagnosed with stage IV GBM brain tumor. This type of cancer is inoperable. Due to his illness he was forced into retirement to focus on his health. Giselle also stopped working to help care for Barry. Giselle and Barry have been fighting the good fight, heads held high, smiles on and trying their best to hold it together. Though the moments are private, I'm sure you can imagine the struggle within their home to be tiring and endless, never mind heart wrenching. Although cancer was not on their list of things to do 2 years ago they chose to find a way to make it work, they were doing "okay."
Then most recently the Landau's received news that Barry's last employer has filed for bankruptcy. What does that have to do with Barry you ask, EVERYTHING. This means his health insurance is canceled! On top of that they do not meet the qualifications for Medicaid. A devastating blow for a hardworking family. Pay for chemo in cash...how much would that cost? A lot. Each visit to the doctor & specialists will be in the thousands
Like me and my family we have been wondering how we can help this amazing family, how can we brighten their day? Maybe a fruit basket, or some cookies or cupcakes. Nothing seemed just right.
