Barry the farmer (Frost Lane, Hythe)
Donation protected
Hello, and welcome to Barry's Farm GoFundMe page.
Steve Green thoughtfully started this page to help give back something to Barry Bevis who has been managing his small holding of rescued animals for the last 50 years. Barry was recently diagnosed with cancer; and the fund was put in place to allow him to spend some valuable time with his family while volunteers took over the running and care of the animals.
The fund was an enormous success; Barry and his family have been overwhelmed by the support and charity that so many people have shown. They wanted to confirm that all funds raised so far and any that they continue to raise through this site will 100% put towards the upkeep and the management of the animals.
The animals and the community have meant everything to Barry. Barry and Janis have been running the small holding for over 50 years and saved it twice from being used as a development site for housing. https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/9429947.animal-sanctuary-saved-from-housing-development/, But maybe you didnt know that Barry also served 24 years in the fire brigade serving at Hythe Fire Station and was instrumental in reversing a decision to close it back in 1992, ensuring we still have a Fire Station in Hythe today.
There is a link to this funding page by the field, so those who wish to donate regularly can do so. The family really appreciates all the help you have kindly given to them so far, and with your help, they look to secure the animals and the field for generations to come. x
