We are requesting help on behalf of the Parliman family to defray medical expenses associated with the care of Barry Parliman after he suffered a series of strokes in May.
Barry suffered these strokes during a bout with COVID-19 in May 2022. This episode left him with little control over his left side. After acute care, and intense in-patient rehabilitation, he has regained some function in his left arm, but the function of his left leg has not yet returned. Barry still resides at a rehabilitation facility where doctors are bullish on his chances for recovery and marvel at his motivation and the level of support of his friends and family. However, at this time, Barry cannot perform basic functions, needs significant assistance to move around and requires specialized transportation to visit his doctors.
While Barry's insurance has covered the bulk of his treatment to date, his family now must fund a significant portion of his care that will be critical to his recovery. The costs the family must now fund include:
*Co-pays for each additional day at Barry's in-patient rehab facility
*Transportation costs for doctor visits
*Modifications to the Parliman home to accommodate a wheelchair and other assistance devices
*At-home rehabilitation
Anyone who knows Barry knows of his kindness and generosity to everyone in the community. We hope you can help contribute to ease the family's financial burden and allow them to focus entirely on Barry's care and rehabilitation.
