Barry McKenzie's last adventure !
Donation protected
Barry is my father aged 88. Clare his wife( my mother ) died in 2017 aged 87. They were married for 66 years. He lives and works as a motor mechanic ( he cannot afford to retire ) to this day, in Walgett, NSW, Australia. My 60th birthday is 6/7/2018 and I would love for him to be able to come to London and help me celebrate. He cannot afford a business class ticket which would be the safest way for a gent of his age to get here and back and visit the Scottish highlands for traces of our origins.
We will need to buy his ticket very soon, before the end of March I think.
Barry is in/famous as confirmed by Mr Barry Humphries himself as the origin of the name for the comic strip and subsequent movies titled "The Adventures of Barry McKenzie". That is a long story.
Barry holds a millennial Order of Australia medal for services to sport.
Barry has presented the Saturday morning Western Districts sports report on radio station 2WEB [ Western Educational Broadcasting ] Bourke,NSW for the last twenty years. Always signing off with a joke.
Surely Mr Barry Humphries or Mr Barry Crocker[ who played the movie part] or many Australians or QANTAS itself or even some Calcutta cup jubilant Scots [ what a victory today] would enjoy this great man having one final adventure. [ Barry says our ancestor John was a "Mac" when he left the Fort William area on the "Coromandel" in 1838 - but a spellling mistake occurred].
