Help Barry Koron's Family with Medical Expenses

Donation protected
Barry Koron was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor in January 2022. After surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy, his cancer is in remission. However, he and his family face ongoing medical and financial challenges:
  • The tumor and its treatment have left him with physical and mental deficits.
  • He needs a cane to walk and is physically frail.
  • Barry can still play the piano a bit, but he cannot work.
  • Constant companionship is the only way to ensure he is safe.
Barry's family has found an adult daycare program run by caring people that ensure he gets the care he needs, and Barry enjoys being there. Insurance does not cover the cost of this program, and with Barry out of work, bills are piling up.
The money given to this fundraiser goes directly to help pay Barry's bills and improve his quality of life.
My name is Kate Tompkins, and I'm Barry's wife of 32 years. As those who know him can attest, Barry has always been a good-natured good guy. He is a natural entertainer, a director, a musician, a trivia and baseball nerd, and someone who is always quick to crack a joke. Barry has worked as a local San Francisco musician for years, most recently as the music minister at St. Aiden's Church.
If you can donate, please consider contributing to help Barry have the best life possible. And thank you from all of us, from the bottoms of our hearts.
