Barry Kittredge or “Bear” as he is known at Chocorua Camping Village, where he has worked for the last several years, is in desperate need of financial assistance.

Barry has been in pain with intestinal and urinary problems for most of the summer. He resisted going to the doctor, due to the fact that he has no medical insurance, until about three weeks ago when he finally relented and agreed to see a doctor, due to the severity of the pain.
Upon initial examination, it was found that his problem was very serious and involved an extreme infection. He was given antibiotics, had further testing done and was sent home. The antibiotics did not work, and over the following week, his condition continued to worsen.
On August 5th, in extreme pain, he had to be taken to an emergency room for further evaluation. Paul Spencer convinced Barry to allow Paul to take him to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. There, a team of doctors examined him and after many tests determined he needed immediate surgery to remove a section of his colon and repair damage to his urinary tract. However, before surgery could happen, he needed to have a severe infection reduced. After nine days of intensive antibiotic treatment, Barry underwent his initial surgery on Thursday, August 15th.
Barry has no medical insurance and will not be able to work for several months while he recovers. While he has no income, he does have a place to stay, at Chocorua Camping Village, without cost. He will still need funds for medical expenses associated with his hospital stay and surgery, follow up care and medications, as well as daily living expenses over the next several months.
If you know Barry, appreciate the great person that he is; and if you can help, please make a donation to this Go Fund Me account for him.
