Barry & Diana's Dental Surprise: Your Help Is Needed

Howdy! I'm Cynthia Burke, and run Bee Holistic Cat Rescue and Hospice (beeholistic.com) in Richmond CA. I've been doing it for forty- some years; and got non-profit status in 2008.

With husband Ken, we've saved and found homes for around one thousand cats: loved every single one!

Diana and Barry are young cats, so we were surprised, when we took them for dental cleaning, to find that they needed work! They had shown no signs of distress, drooling, etc., had been eating fine, and looked vibrant and healthy. Check-ups are critical! You never know...and I've a pretty good eye after so many years of observation.

Anyhow, we took them both to Abbey in El Cerrito (highly recommended).

Barry's gums were inflamed, and he needed several extractions, and antibiotic treatment. Diana was worse! Needed more extractions and follow-up care.

Cats are famous for hiding their pain...two cases in point! Between the two, the cost was $4926.00. Money well spent, but money we didn't have...

Since I wrote this, anaother cat, Handsome Andrew, needed to havethree teeth extracted. Another $2000 added to the credit card bill!
