I'm Alexis and my friend has been in need of a scooter/wheelchair for some time now. She had hoped using one would be temporary but it has become clear it is a permanent need and the second hand one she got initially is doing damage to her back and is now also failing electrically.

She is an active part of the community and incredibly supportive of others. If I could afford to just buy it for her, I would, but what I can do is organise so I'm putting together this fundraiser for her (with her knowledge and consent).

A big fan of live music, she adores going to festivals and a suitable wheelchair would enable her to keep that joyful part of her life.

It would also enable her to simply leave her home safely, nip to the shops, or attend local events, without the fear of her battery dying and being left stranded, or returning home having further damaged her already seriously hurt spine.

She's also got into Dungeons and Dragons recently and a safe, suitable wheelchair would enable her to attend our in person games much easier and continue her utter chaos at the table!

She has test driven a wheelchair/scooter which is suited to her specific needs. It has the relevant support for her spine, much better battery life and distance per charge and an option for extra power. It is easily adjusted to make it lighter for easy lifting in and out of cars or moving around on bad days.

The chair will also be built to her measurements so she won't have to stretch (like in the photo of the test drive).
