On May 30, 2016, while on vacation with his wife Nicole, my brother, Barri Shank was tragically and senselessly murdered. Shortly after checking into the Hyatt Place in North Charleston, South Carolina, Barri was shot while walking his dogs on hotel property. He was found minutes later by Nicole, who was checking in at the time of the shooting. Barri died shortly after arriving at the hospital. Needless to say, our family is heartbroken and still in a state of shock.

With no surveillance cameras anywhere outside the hotel, North Charleston Police are unable to identify a suspect. No witnesses have stepped forward and no leads have been generated to help with the investigation.

Through Crimestoppers ((843)554-1111) a reward fund has been started to help get someone to step forward with information. North Charleston Police suggest that by increasing the reward amount, it will encourage people to speak up. Together we are hopeful that by doing this, we may be able to get justice for Barri, but also prevent other families from suffering through this same nightmare.
