Barrett's Journey: Love and Support Needed

Donation protected
Earlier this week Hannah and Logan got some pretty heavy news about their baby, who is due in September, Barrett. They've had to start thinking and planning for things that no parent should ever have to do for their child. This brings a lot of new challenges and unfortunately new expenses (on top of existing bills). They will have more frequent doctor visits, tests, appointments, and other medical bills as they face this head on. This Go Fund Me serves as a way to help support Logan and Hannah with the unexpected bills that will come from Barrett's birth and ultimately his funeral services expenses. Logan and Hannah are extremely grateful for any donation big or small and of course your thoughts and prayers. Please help us in supporting this young family. For more information from Logan and Hannah please read the message below from Hannah's Facebook.

Putting something like this into words is impossible, but in all honesty this whole situation Logan and I have found ourselves in feels impossible. On Wednesday, Logan and I went in for our routine anatomy scan and things unfortunately did not go as planned. We found out that our precious little boy, Barrett Chase, has anencephaly. Anencephaly is a neural tube defect where the brain and skull fail to develop. This is a fatal diagnosis. To say that our worlds are shattered is an understatement. The conversations we have had and decisions we have been forced to make over the last 48 hours is something a parent should never have to go through. But the important thing right now is that our baby IS alive. He is perfect in every other way. His heart is strong, he wiggles and kicks constantly, and he loves sucking on his fingers. Logan and I have ultimately made the decision to continue our pregnancy for as long as Barrett is here with us, whether it be one more week or another 16 weeks. This pregnancy will either end as a stillbirth or could go to full term and we would get to spend a short amount of time with him before he passes. Either way, it’s on his terms we are going to cherish every moment that God gifts us with Barrett still alive and safe in my belly. Every day with him is a gift and we aren’t going to take that for granted.
Logan and I ask for grace and patience as we learn to navigate this new reality we are faced with. The pain and emotions are still very fresh for us, but the last thing we want is for him to be forgotten. Please don’t be afraid to talk about him, he is still our child and we want the world to know him. Barrett’s life is going to look a lot different than what we had imagined, but it’s still his life and we are going to celebrate it. We are angry. We are confused. We are devastated. But he is SO loved and that’s all that matters. Please pray for our family as we walk this scary and uncertain road.
