Help support Barrett and Torey Gardner
Donation protected
Hi my name is Kristi Daigle Boudreaux, myself, my sister Lindsy Daigle Segura and our Mom, Totsy Daigle are asking for help for our sister and brother in law, Torey and Barrett Gardner. A little over a week ago they were hunting in North Louisiana when Barrett’s fell 20’ from his tree stand causing multiple severe injuries. (See Torey’s post below)
This after a cancer diagnosis in March of this year, multiple myeloma (cancer of the bone marrow). They were scheduled to be in Little Rock to get treatment this weekend.
But as of now, cancer treatments are on hold as they may affect the healing of these injuries.
He is currently still in the hospital and will need inpatient rehab. He will be out of work for an unknown amount of time. Financially it was already a struggle going back and forth to Little Rock for Cancer treatments. We are asking for help and prayers! 100% of all funds collected will go directly to them.
From Torey:
“I wish I was giving an update about my husband Barrett Gardner cancer but unfortunately not. This past weekend Barrett had a hunting accident. He fell 20 foot and shattered his spine. With the help of several rescue responders, EMTs, and police we had to take him out of the woods in the back of a truck, down the road to a helicopter to be airlifted. He was taken into emergency surgery. He had a burst fracture to L2 and several other fractures. He is fused from T11 to L4. He not only shattered his spine but he ruptured the sack that holds the nerves surrounding the spine. The surgeon was able to clean out the bone fragments that had gotten tangled in with the nerves and seal the nerve sack backup. After surgery the dr came out, told me that it’s a miracle he’s not paralyzed, but time will tell what damage was done. We r day 6 after the accident and still in Monroe where it happened. He has since then been able to get up and walk with therapy. It’s will be a long hard recovery but I have no doubt that he will recover and back in the woods(but on the ground) soon.
His chemo has been put on hold for now. The chemo could possibly interfere with the healing process. We will resume Chemo when the time is right. Thanks for everyone that’s reached out. The prayers r working”
