Baron's Surgery Fundraiser

Tax deductible
Baron is a senior declawed kitty who belonged to the same home for many years. He has been through more than any animal should and his journey began with the wrong home for his needs. As a senior who lived alone the first part of his life, his requirements were a quiet environment similar to what he was used to. That was not the case in the next home which was noisy and hectic. Often declawed cats have challenges using the litter box. Sometimes it’s because the litter hurts those tender paws and other times, it can be behavioral as a result of the trauma of declawing.
Using the litter box turned out to be a challenge for Baron and sadly the family brought him to a local veterinarian to be euthanized. The Vet’s office reached out to Barn Cat Buddies and he was rescued from a situation that was not his fault.
Baron was placed in an adoption venue with other cats and did not thrive in that setting as he was used to being an only cat.

After weeks, Baron’s Angel showed up offering him the perfect home as an only cat. They instantly fell in love with each other and that’s when his story book life should have begun. But shortly after adopting Baron, his person noticed his discomfort eating. As time progressed, it seemed to get worse. She reached out to Barn Cat Buddies, not to rehome him but because she was heartbroken that something was wrong and she did not know how to fix it. We ran him right into a full service vet.
Upon examination it was discovered Baron had some painful lesions that had most likely been there for awhile due to dental neglect.
BCB took on the expense to fix his problem with surgery that lasted over two hours. Along the way, some underlying complications were discovered that required further surgery.
While Baron’s story is heartbreaking, it is also a testament to the resilience of animals and the people who love them.
We feel this surgery will give Baron many more years of pain free living and the quality of life he so deserves.

However because BCB has been using donation monies all year long (yes even in the winter during an ice storm!) on sterilization surgeries and kitten care, the $700 cost of surgery has put us in a bind. That is why we have started this GoFundMe for Baron.
We know times are tough but in this case, NO DONATION IS TOO SMALL and we thank you in advance for any amount you can afford –
Hugs to you from us,
Barn Cat Buddies and feline Friends
