Our 7-month-old Australian Shepherd, Baron, was tragically hit by a car and left in a ditch. The driver never stopped. By a miracle, he was found and rushed to the University of Illinois Veterinary Hospital, where he’s now in the ICU receiving round-the-clock care.

Baron has:

• Five broken ribs

• A right pelvic fracture

• Sacral displacement

• A left femoral head fracture

Despite these devastating injuries, Baron wagged his tail and even ate some treats for me today. He is truly the sweetest, most loving pup, and he’s fighting hard.

The ICU team is managing his pain and watching his breathing closely. If he continues to improve, they’re hopeful he’ll be strong enough for two critical surgeries early next week—one to repair the femoral fracture, and one for the sacral displacement.

The total cost of his care is estimated at $12,000–$14,000. We’ve already paid $6,000, and thanks to a generous donor through this hospital program, $2,000 more has been covered.

Now we’re humbly asking for help to raise the remaining amount so Baron can have the surgeries he needs to walk, play, and live a full life.
