Barney's fight

As most of you know our dad was diagnosed with terminal stage 4 lung cancer that has metastasized to his lymph nodes, liver, and bones. He had an MRI of his brain Tuesday to see if it had spread to his brain, it has been bad news followed by worse news so we were all prepared for the worst with the MRI it was an agonizing 3 days but the results came in on Friday that it had not spread to his brain, receiving that good news was just what we all needed we were elated, unfortunately it didn’t last long Friday night he was admitted to the ICU he had so much fluid around his lung that it totally collapsed, his potassium had bottomed out and was critically low, his glucose was  critically high. It was a very scary night he was so critically sick we didn’t know what way this was going to go. He has been through so much and I have no doubt that he will give this his all, as of right now he is too critical to go home but they do have a plan in place that we are hoping will help, the plan is for them to go in and do a thorocenticias to drain all the fluid around his lung, and to start chemo today they said because it is a very aggressive chemo it should start shrinking his tumors fairly quick and then maybe his stats will start to normalize so that maybe he can come home this week sometime. My mom will have to miss quite a bit of work while he is hospitalized and I know that the financial worries weigh heavily on both of their minds, my mom is not one to reach out for help and I just want to try to help ease that worry so that my dad can focus on this battle and my mom can focus on him and being there for him in the fight for his life.
