Barney: illegally trapped on posted property

This is Barney. He is a shelter rescue that found his perfect home in the country. Sadly, an illegal trapper set traps on his Humans posted property, and his back foot was severely crushed. After almost 36 hours, the trapper must have freed him.. and he came home limping. His human took him to the vets the next morning, a Saturday, and they gave him antibiotics and pain meds and sent him home. Three days later, we were back at the vets with a foot that needed emergent attention.   $600 later, it was determined that tendons were exposed and flesh was decaying. . After sedation and removal of dead tissue.. the vets said there were two options

1) 8 weeks of sedation and debriding at a cost of about $200-$250 a week

2) amputation at a cost of approx $600.

We won’t know more until the foot is unbandaged a week from now. Barney coukd sure use your help and prayers. If you are so inclined, even a small donation will help pay for his vet bills and travel to the vet for procedures.

By sad chance, if it must be amputated… any donations made over and above the cost of his treatment will be used to post a reward for the finding and prosecution of the person responsible for this horrible injury. God bless and thank you all.
