Barnaby the rescue therapy goat vet fees fundraiser
Donation protected
Hi
Here at Petite Ponies based near Milton Keynes we run an animal assisted alternative education, provision, personal development and wellbeing centre for SEN children and vulnerable adults. Barnaby is the "heart of the farm", a key team member and much loved by all
He came to us over two and a half years ago as a 6 month old nervous, underweight, very lame youngster. He had been very roughly handled in his previous home and humans frightened him. One of our autistic students was determined to help Barnaby learn to trust people and would just spend hours sitting with him in a stable. It worked and now Barnaby loves people and attention we joke that he thinks he's actually a dog not a goat. Barnaby is a cheeky boy but somehow knows what you need whether that be a cuddle, just to chill out or he's happy to make you laugh and smile with his antics.
Barnaby suddenly became very unwell we got the vet out straight away and after a worrying night nursing him trying to understand the problem and no improvement he was rushed to Cambridge University Veterinary Hospital where he was diagnosed with a bladder blockage (stones). For goats this is a life threatening condition so immediate surgery was required. He's had the surgery that went well he now faces a tough recovery in hospital we all have our fingers crossed. This has now as you can imagine created a very large vet bill. We are a small operation and most of our amazing animals are rescues so some of our supporters and students have suggested doing some fund raising gofundme being one of them. Any help towards Barnabys vet bill will be gratefully received. Thank you
