Barn Cat Project, Lakewood Equestrian Center
Donation protected
Hi My Name is Peggy Hagopian and I am in charge of the "Barn Cat Project" at Lakewood Equestrian Center
in Lakewood, California.
Our goal is to use feral and semi feral cats to keep the rodent population down at the Lakewood Equestrian Center, so that we do not have to use poison traps. We have named this the "Barn Cat Project" because we want to do what so many farmers do across this country do. That is to use cats as a means to get rid of the rodents here at the stable. We have a variety of pests: Rats, mice, moles, rabbits, and squirrels'.
We have just started and we currently have 2 cats. We are looking to have 5- 6 cats in total.
We have started this go fund me account so that we can have fund raisers for the cats.
We will use the donations to pay for food, the medical needs of these cats, and any thing else they may need. (safe houses, flea, and worming products, etc. )
We have already seen a reduction of pest in the areas we the cats are located. We want to expand this to the entire stable which appx. 15 acres.
