Hello, my name is Cameron and I am starting this GoFundMe for my parents who are the owners of Barley. Barley was a rescue dog from The Farm Rescue in Sooke, BC.

In July of 2025 Barley tore his cranial cruciate ligament and his anterior cruciate ligament along with his meniscus and required surgery. For those of you who might not know, these surgeries are very expensive and the recovery time is lengthy. My parents were able to pay for the first surgery, which cost about $10,000 and Barley was recovering.

A couple days before Christmas in 2025, Barley was out for a walk and collapsed putting no weight on his other non-repaired leg. He is in a lot of pain and is heavily medicated waiting until surgery. The surgeon believes he tore his other cruciate and anterior ligaments and likely tore his meniscus. Barley is planning on going in for surgery again on January 6th, 2026.

The first surgery was close to $10,000 with blood work, exam fees, and x-rays not to mention the lengthy recovery time which involves keeping him from playing too hard and short walks. Now my parents are up against another $10,000 surgery and 6+ months recovery. Barley also suffers from idiopathic epilepsy which he has had for the last year. He is on medication and doing better but still has seizures from time to time.

Please consider donating if you can. I understand the timing is not ideal being just after the holidays but they would appreciate whatever you can spare. If you have donated, thank you very much, we truly can't thank you enough.
