Hi friends and family-

With a heavy heart I start this page for the Barladyan family.

Our dad, Anatoliy 'Oleg' Barladyan was hospitalized for pneumonia on May 26th, 2025- on May 28th he went into a respiratory arrest followed by a cardiac arrest. The doctors worked tirelessly for over 45 minutes to bring him back. He was placed in a medically induced coma for five days to allow his body to recover, but when the sedation was lifted, he was not responding as he should.

After multiple tests, we were told the devastating news that Dad suffered severe and likely irreversible brain damage due to the prolonged resuscitation causing lack of oxygen to the brain. At this time, dad is still at the Anchorage hospital and the future is uncertain. He needs 24hr care. He is unable to have intentional response or communication. Our hope is that he can be moved to a facility closer to home in Fairbanks, but that is not currently an option.

During this time, our family has been traveling back and forth to be with Dad, taking time off work and using all our savings. My sister has stayed in Anchorage by his side through it all, even leaving her job to care for him. As you can imagine, this has created a tremendous financial burden.

On top of medical and travel expenses, one of the family’s biggest concerns right now is the home septic system. It has had serious issues for some time, and last winter the house went months without a working septic system, which was difficult for the family. Dad's priority was to fix it this summer. With him being unable to do that anymore, we are looking for any and all help. Whether through financial support to hire someone, or help with equipment or labor, this would lift a huge burden off the family during an already overwhelming season.

We are deeply grateful for every prayer, every word of encouragement, and every act of kindness shown to us. In the midst of this heartbreaking journey, we continue to see God’s love poured out through our community, and our hearts are filled with gratitude.
