Barking Mad Dog Rescue Fundraiser

Everyone that knows me knows I love my dogs and that I'm a huge advocate of adopting. You will all have seen copious amounts of photos of my two rescue dogs, Loki and Pepper. Both of my beautiful bambinos were rescued off of the streets of Romania by BMDR and were given a second chance at life.

Loki was found by Claudia when he was a tiny baby. He was in the park all alone in the cold with no mum or siblings to be found. He was covered in ticks and fleas laying on the concrete watching the world go by. He is still somewhat of a lone wolf and likes his own space but is a huge softie at heart. He's fiercely loyal, howls at aeroplanes, is super intelligent and knocks on the cupboards for treats at least 50 times a day!

Pepper was found by Claudia's partner on a trip to the shops for some cat food. He saw a small black dog (only 7-8 months old) asking for attention from everyone wagging her tail as hard as she could but no one was happy to see her... so he brought her home! Not much has changed. Pepper sleeps under the covers, adores a cuddle, steals everything and her happy little tail never stops wagging. She's just genuinely so happy to be with her people

Thankfully they were both found and taken into the care of Claudia and BMDR because they now make me smile every single day.

I have wanted to give back to this charity for a long time and have always wanted to go to Romania to volunteer and help make a difference. This year in October I get to do exactly that! I'll be flying out to Romania to volunteer at the shelter and my goal before I go is to raise as much money as possible to donate to this fantastic charity.

The company I work for will match my donations up to £250 so I would really love to achieve this goal and give back to an organisation that is so close to my heart!

The work this charity does is absolutely incredible and I am eternally grateful to them for bringing me and my pooches together. I honestly couldn't imagine life without them! Bets on me coming home with another? (Or three?)

More information about Barking Mad Dog Rescue: Barking Mad Dog Rescue is a UK based charity which provides food, veterinary support and where appropriate finds adoptive homes for the dogs in our shelters in eastern Romania. With an average of 600 dogs to care for, plus several hundred others that we donate food for, fundraising is ongoing and essential. Dogs in Romania are some of the most persecuted in Europe. We routinely pick up dogs who are victims of abuse or road accidents. Every dog matters.
