My name is Kitty Callie, a 5-week-old Maine Coon that was trapped inside a scrap metal dumpster. The metal was so hot and slippery that I couldn’t climb out. I was stuck there for countless days—hungry, thirsty, and scared.

I was so desperate that when the rainwater dried up, I drank motor oil to try and survive. People didn’t know I was in there, and they kept throwing pieces of metal on top of me. The metal was so heavy and sharp, it cut my tail off. By the time I was finally found, I was skin and bones… and barely holding on.

My new mom rushed me to safety, and now I’m learning what love feels like. But I’m still very hurt. The rest of my tail has to be amputated because it’s infected, and my little feet are fracturedI need special care so I can one day run, jump, and play like other kittens.

Even though I’ve been through so much pain, I keep purring, cuddling, and fighting for my life. I’m so grateful to have a second chance.

Hi there, I'm Callie's mom, Brady

Despite all she’s endured, Callie is showing incredible strength. She’s eating every 3 hours, rehydrated, alert, and already stealing hearts with her headbutts and tiny purrs. She still needs a lot of medical care, and the remaining portion of her tail will be amputated (Monday, Aug 25) due to infection. I’m doing everything I can—but need a little help to give her the best chance at a happy, healthy life. Your donations will go toward:
  • Amputation recovery (tail amputation has been covered)
  • Treatment and recovery of fractures, torn ligaments, and muscles.
  • Casting and bracing
  • Medications and follow-up vet visits
  • Food to help her gain weight
  • Litter and supplies during her recovery

Every little bit makes a difference for Callie. Thank you so much if you've gotten this far and read her story. ❤️
