My grandmother is hands down the most amazing person I've ever known. She is the rock of our family that holds us all together, and I've always looked at her as a second mom. She's been my friend, family and an example to us all and I cannot imagine a life without her.

She currently suffers from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA), osteoporosis, arthritis and four crushed vertebrae in her back and two in her neck. In February 2016, we had a real scare when she was on her way back from Missouri and landed in ICU in Alabama for nine days where she came way too close to death. Since then, she has been on 24/7 oxygen and her health is declining. On June 29, 2016 she was officially approved for Hospice and was told she has 30% lung function remaining and is rapidly declining.
COPD is an obstruction of airflow and can lead to severe difficulty breathing. With only 30% lung function left six months ago and significantly less now, her only hope for survival is Stem Cell Therapy. This procedure costs roughly $12,000 and is in no way covered by insurance. Additionally, her aneurysm measures at 4,9cm and will require a major surgery once it reaches 5.0cm.
Separately, my grandfather is paralyzed from the waist down and has been wheelchair bound for six and a half years. He is undergoing treatment for his sixth bout of cancer and my grandmother is his sole caregiver.

To say our family cannot live without her would be an understatement. The urgency of this is crucial, if she cannot get the stem cell therapy treatment, this is it for her. My grandmother surpasses the definition of grandmas. She has always taken on more than she should and is so independent, it is time for her to take a step back for once and let others help her. I'm asking/begging for any help whether it be donations, sharing this page and/or prayers.
