It was just 8 short months ago that Barb made the cross-Canada trek to BC. Deciding to relocate for a work opportunity and for a change of pace, Barb was moving back to her 'home' province, a place where she felt a strong connection to her family and her roots.
After taking on the challenge of downsizing and identifying her most-loved and necessary belongings, Barb watched her truck get packed and she followed that truck to White Rock, BC.
Settling in brought some home sickness and many tears over friends and family missed, but then…that beautiful view of the ocean could take the edge off of anyone’s heart-ache.
Sadly, Barb woke up on the night of Arpil 5th to find that the condo next door was on fire. She fled with just the few items that were sitting by the door, her phone, briefcase and two coats. Since then she has yet to get into the apartment but we know the damage is extensive and most of her belongings will need replacement.
Words cannot describe how thankful we are that Barb, our mom, daughter, sister and friend is safe, but we are also heart-broken at her situation. Losing your most valued possessions is surely painful.
Many of us are at a loss of how to help you from so far away. Let these gestures of giving be our hugs and support as you navigate your way to a new home.
