Barb's cataract surgery
Donation protected
Hello,
As a senior living on a fixed income the last few years have been challenging. My involvement in many art related volunteer positions came to an end as I found myself facing health issues.
I am a self employed artist; working at night I have noticed that there is distortion in my vision as well as the ability to see colors correctly.
Within the last couple of years I have developed cataracts that are affecting my sight and driving ability. Driving at night has become harder and harder with the halo effect caused by them.
Recent imaging also suggests possible further issues but my Drs. would like to take care of the cataracts first.
Currently I cannot afford the recommended IOL surgery as it is not the type of surgery covered by Medicare insurance. My surgery is scheduled for March 1 & March 15, 2023.
Here is a summary:
“Using refractive laser during cataract surgery enables the surgeon to customize the procedure to the individual patient. The laser can be programmed based on the individual’s unique corneal anatomy, making the results more accurate and precise than previously possible with conventional cataract removal. Wavefront eye-mapping technology is used in the intra-operative stage where the surgical team adjusts the treatment plan based on the personalized information. Our cataract surgeons observe the unique characteristics of the eye and use these precise measurements to determine the power of the artificial lens needed, then selecting the IOL in real-time for the best visual outcome possible.”
I hope you will consider helping me fund this procedure. It would be greatly appreciated.
