Barbie’s Fight Against Cancer Fund

Donation protected
The greatest, sweetest, most caring person in the world has been going through a rough 6 years, battling colon cancer. Some caller her Barbie, others call her Nana Barb, I like to call her mom. 6 years ago Nana Barb was diagnosed with colon cancer. They instantly started her on chemo and radiation therapy, but after months of therapy, the doctors saw little to no improvement.  The next step was to surgically remove a large portion of her colon, where the cancer cells were rapidly spreading. This resulted for her to permanently have a colostomy bag for the rest of her life. During surgery, a surgical mishap occurred where her urethra was cut. Thus resulting in permanent damage and now she has to catheter every single day, on top of having the colostomy bag. Over the years, Nana Barb has been in and out of chemo and radiation therapy as the cancer has continued to spread into her lungs. A blood clot in her leg, caused by a tumor pressing up against her artery vein. Cancer has spread to the tumor in her leg. The doctors next course of action is to put Nana Barb on a chemo treatment called Paclitaxel + Carboplatin, which is very powerful chemo. Symptoms from this chemo will get much worse before they get better. Loss of hair, loss of vision, skin irritation, damage to ears, and many more symptoms.  The purpose of this fundraiser is to help alleviate the financial burden all of this has taken on Nana Barb and Joe, her husband. Though Joe works somewhere that is very understanding of when he has to call off or leave early to take her to an appointment or for an emergency, he works in sales. Missing work has caused a depletion of their savings, retirement fund, and emergency fund. With little income coming in, all of the medical bills and supplies, house payment and normal electrical, water, etc. bills are pilling up. This fund would enormously take the pressure off of Nana Barb, Joe, and the whole family.  We appreciate you taking the time to read Nana Barb's story and we hope that you please share this fundraiser outward within your community. We thank you so much for supporting the fight against cancer.
