BARBIES AND DRILLAS GET TO FRINGE!

Barbies and Drillas is a comedy about five housemates gloriously wasting their youth as they try to avoid the hell of growing up.

Set in a flat on the very very very outskirts of London, five housemates bicker, drink, sing, dance, play games and mock each other endlessly. Rejoicing in the degradation of youth, whilst trying to escape the inevitability of growing up. The play takes place in the strange liminal period of life post-university, where you are finally flung out into the world as an 'adult'.

"We're in the times of our lives! Look around! Isn't it golden? ... Ok maybe it's more of a bronze age - a historical dark age so to speak..."

Not only is it a piece depicting being young in 2024 - the very heart of the play is friendship. As our characters find out - friends are the family we gather along the way, and the connections we form between ourselves is lifelong. Over the course of the hour, we watch these characters go from young people enjoying the freedom of youth into functioning members of society. Posing to an audience that - whether we like it or not - this is the future!

We have been lucky enough to be selected by the prestigious Gilded Balloon, one of Edinburgh's top venues. We have been scheduled to appear for a month at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival!

However, as exciting as this is... it's all very very expensive.

Not only do we need to pay our venue, there are countless other costs.

Our wonderful creative team, including our set, costume, sound and tech. Our talented actors, transport, accommodation, publicity...

Our plan is to do a week of previews in London, but we cannot afford to do any of this without the money.
