Hi, I'm Sandy. Barb and I have been besties since Freshman year of High School (1988). In July of 2022 I heard the words that I never wanted to hear from her. I have cancer, Ovarian, Stage 3. I know it shook my world, I can't even imagine how deeply it effected her.
Over the last year and a half, I have watched her fight, win, struggle, succeed, take steps forward, take steps backwards and the whole time she tried to keep that shiny, bright smile that everyone knows and loves.
About a year after the diagnosis, she received the good news that she was winning the battle, but that she would have to continue battling for the rest of her life, because this was a rare form that would never really, go away. For the rest of her life, she will have to continue chemo, almost monthly, just to try and keep this monster at bay.
Well the whole time she's fighting this, she also trying to be a business owner, in this struggling economy. Working shifts at the bar when employees don't show up, when she should be taking care of her self. Unfortunately her husband has also been plagued with illness this past year. I've seen her leave her own chemo treatments, just to drive to another hospital and be there for one of his procedures.
I've seen this girl work and work and work for years, always there to help her family and friends and always willing to give others her time and energy and help them in any way she can.
I know she's always been there for me and now I feel it's time that this world is there for her. I've set up this GoFundMe page to try and help her offset some of her expenses. She's struggling, we all are, but I can't think of anyone more deserving of help, than Barb. She hasn't taken a paycheck from her business in about 5 months, just trying to keep the doors open, for her employees, to be able to have a job. I know she is struggling with all the medical bills, household bills and just life expenses in general. I'm hoping to raise some money, just to make her life easier and keep that bright, shiny, beautiful smile on her face. No donation is too small. I thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you in advance for supporting Barb. The world is better with her in it. ❤️❤️❤️
