Barbie’s Battle with Leukemia
Donation protected
As a single mother of 5 working 3 jobs, being tired isn’t immediately viewed as a problem. But after several weeks of feeling especially exhausted, and a coworker telling her she seemed like she was anemic, our mom, Barbie-Jo Fa’agau, went to the ER to get checked out. She was immediately admitted and the tests began. On May 5, 2018, she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and started round 1 of 8 of chemotherapy shortly after.
Besides chemotherapy, there are other treatments that may be needed, but these treatments are not available in Hawaii, so she may need to be relocated to either Texas or Washington. We do not know if or when the relocation would be needed, but even without it, cancer treatment is still very expensive. We’ve set the goal for $50,000 but we really have no idea how much it’s going to cost being that we are still very early in this process. We know that everyone is going through their own battles so we ask that you give what you can, but only IF you can.
Thank you for reading this and thank you so much for your love and support!
