A group of Barbican residents have come together to campaign against the proposed redevelopment of 1, Silk Street.
We want a smaller, better quality building on that site - that complements the Barbican, adheres to to the City’s development plans, planning regulations, and will be a good neighbour to us all.
Our campaign:
- will ensure the concerns and impact on residents and community are understood
- seek the right professional advice
- will engage constructively clearly with the land owners, developers and planning department of City of London
- will publicise and shine a light on the risks and process being followed.
We are appointing professional advisors to ensure we have the right legal grounds for objection. This will include a planning barrister and right-to-light consultant.
We will only spend money where necessary and be transparent in how it is spent through the accounts of the Barbican Association.
