Barbara Meccia ALS fundraiser

As many of you may know, our dear friend Barbara Meccia was diagnosed in January 2019 with ALS, often known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. ALS is a chronic, progressive, terminal neurological disease which affects the nerve cells that move muscles when we speak, walk, swallow, and move our body. The symptoms get worse with time and unfortunately Barbara has had to stop working as a result of the side effects that she has been experiencing.
Barbara is one of the most kind, humble, fun, optimistic people that I know. Throughout her battle, she has never once lost hope or felt sorry for herself. She continues to be a devoted hands-on mother to Martin (age 11) and Clement (age 8) and has even looked on the bright side of being able to spend more time with them now that she is home. The reality is, though, that it has been physically exhausting and very tough for Barbara to navigate throughout her day to day.
In addition, Barbara’s medical bills have risen and will only continue to rise. A renovation with a downstairs bedroom and full bath will soon be necessary for the Meccia family. Not to mention, planning for the family’s future will be more difficult now that Barbara can no longer work.
Any amount that you could contribute would be helpful to the family. Although Barbara has always been very private and humble, I know she truly appreciates the help and most of all, the prayers that she has received. Let us rally together to lift Barbara and her family up now that it is needed. God works in many wonderful ways and I know the community around Barbara is just another example of that!
Thank you for any help you can give. It is so appreciated. Please feel free to share this site and spread the word!
God Bless Barbara!
