My Mom, Barbara Lasek was an amazing woman and she was our world. She selflessly toiled to ensure our family was supported especially my 3yr old daughter Lily whom she babysat every weekday and became her very best friend. She was a devote Catholic, Eucharistic Minister, gave communion to the home bound, was a Prestigious Past President of the State of NJ Columbiettes, Past President and current director of the American Irish Association of Woodbridge, and Irish woman of the year.
In short, she was always giving of herself and helped ALOT of people.
After a fall late this past September ,she had to go through various tests & procedures to be healthy and spend many more amazing years with us. Unfortunately, her last procedure, a carotid artery surgery to remove a 90% blockage resulted ultimately in a catastrophic stroke damaging the majority of the left side of her brain.
She never woke up post surgery and after 3 days in ICU we made the hard decision to move her to Hospice as the damage to her brain was deemed too severe for any real of quality of life to be had.
We said goodbye and at 3:30pm on 11/22/20 as she returned to God.
Unfortunately, she did not have life insurance and in addition to her loss our family is now facing a myriad of costs including medical costs, funeral costs, as well as the loss of her financial support for her home.
Finally her wish always was to have a large gathering to remember her if she died- since Covid is currently making that not possible we plan to hold a celebration of life either summer 2021 or spring 2022 when it is safe again to have these things.

Funeral expenses
Medical expenses
Funding for a celebration of life to occur when it is safe to gather and mourn
Financial support for the family amid her loss including child care
