Hello, I am Barbara’s B-I-L, my name is Chuck, I am setting up this go fund me without her knowledge, hoping for a good surprise to give to her from all of you.

The picture you seen was Barbara and her husband of 43 years. His name is Frank, he had a severe stroke 7 years ago and Barbara has been taking care of him all these years.

Frank can’t talk or walk or write as we do, his stroke hit the left side of his body, he now side shuffles to walk, mumbles to talk and does not have the ability to write.

To supplement the household income after his stroke, they did a reverse mortgage. They thought it was a good idea, as that along with Frank’s retirement from Civil Service from Travis Air Force Base was their only source of income.

Today we received word from Barbara’s Oncologist at Kaiser Hospital in Vacaville California that the Stage 4 Brain Cancer is spreading and prognosis is not good, if we are lucky Barbara has 6 months provided she has full brain radiation therapy, without radiation therapy we are looking at 2-4 months.

The go fund me would pay off the reverse mortgage and put money aside for Frank’s care as I try to get him into a Veterans Home in Northern California.

They have no kids, I am 67 years old, a stomach cancer survivor, Marine Corps Veteran, and Power of Attorney for both of them. My wife (Barbara’s sister) and I are trying to do the best we can as family members.

The medical and financial decisions that I am going to have to make in the near future will hopefully be the right ones, along with advise from others and faith in our Lord, I’m hoping to do right for Barbara and Frank.

I’m not sure on how to end this story other than to say I promise to do the right medical choices for Barbara in the next few months and then the right financial choice’s for Frank after Barbara leaves us for her be with our Lord.
