Please join me in honoring the memory of Barbara Granger, a most extraordinary individual, whose passing has left a great rift in our lives.
I first met "Bobby" at the Unitarian Universalist Church, in Germantown, around 1973. We lost touch when I moved away. But amazingly, she walked in my front door ten years later, to pick up daughter Nicci, who is pals with my daughter. We've been close family friends since then.
Barbara's dedication and love for family, compassion for others, whether in or outside her work as a social scientist, as well as her never-ending love of nature, and especially the birds, has been a terrific inspiration to all who've known and loved her. Not surprisingly, among her last wishes was for eternal rest under the trees.
Final arrangements of this sort, and medical expenses, are quite expensive. I'd like that not to be an extra burden added to the family's grief. All our donations will be turned over to Barb's husband, Robert, to be used as needed.
