Hi, I’m Alexa, Barbara Boogertman’s oldest daughter. For as long as I can remember my mother would say she didn’t want to have a sad funeral when she eventually passed. Instead, she wanted a “FUN-eral” with music and cotton candy. Unfortunately after a two year battle with stage 4 cancer her life was cut much too short. She was only 55 years old. It is now our responsibility to honor Barbara’s final wishes and celebrate her life the way she wanted. I am so happy to say we will finally be holding a “FUN-eral” on June 10th. All money raised will go towards the cost of food, drinks and other expenses for Barbara’s celebration of life.
Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Barb knows her life deserves to be celebrated. She was a beautiful person inside and out and tirelessly worked to improve our local community and communities around the world. In addition to celebrating Barb’s life we will also be using her “FUN-eral” to raise money for mission trips to Honduras which Barbara was very passionate about and also for a local family going through a battle with cancer now.
