In honor of Barbara A. Lindahl
My name is Sherri, Barbara Lindahl’s middle child. Anyone who knew Barb was aware of how much she enjoyed watching sports and rooting for Chicago teams, most importantly the Chicago Cubs. There's not enough money in the world that can help the Cubs win but you can help her other love, her grandson’s hockey goals. If you feel inclined to support her memory monetarily, all proceeds will go to her grandson, Aaren’s, hockey league fees and expenses.
Aaren has been an avid hockey player since shortly after he learned to walk. Barb loved to watch his games and went to as many as she could when Aaren lived nearby. After he joined a team in Tennessee, Barb would watch his games over the internet and cheer him on from her home. She would always text him “congratulations” after a win and “keep your chin up” after a loss. With every message she encouraged him to thank those around him who made this journey possible, amplifying her core values.
We lost our mom on Saturday July 10, 2021. There is no doubt in our mind that she would want her grandson to keep moving toward his dream of playing Junior Hockey and not let anything stop him. Anyone who has had teenagers in sports can relate to the complicated financial considerations when committing to a league. Aaren has played with the Nashville Flyers and Rockford Hockey Club and is heading into the next season with the AAA Nashville Jr. Predators Team. Her spouse and 5 children fully support the decision to send any monetary contributions to his league fees and expenses in her name and memory.
