Barbados Animal Sanctuary – WIFI Appeal
Ocean Acres Animal Sanctuary is a non-profit Barbados animal rescue shelter. Recently, I had the opportunity to work with this organization when I fostered Lulu, a terrier mix that needed a home and a bit of love. Lulu ended up with a great family and I was able to learn more about the amazing work the folks at Ocean Acres are doing.
Ocean Acres urgently needs to improve their WIFI
Founded in 2020, as a new and fast expanding organization, the sanctuary is set on 4 acres of land, the WIFI signal is limited to a small range at the far residential end of the property, the opposite end of where the working blocks and kennels are housed. Future plans include building more kennels, an office/reception space and staff facilities near the entrance.
The limitations of the current WIFI makes it challenging for the efficient and productive running and growth of the company, being unable to work online from key locations and for the necessity of team communication (on and offsite). Having no WIFI is a major problem and one Ocean Acres has been attempting to resolve for some time, as well as a solution for CCTV, which isn’t possible without full WIFI coverage.
I am John Wasniewski, the Managing Director at Shoshin Technologies Inc., and we are an IT support specialist based in Eastern North Carolina, USA. Shoshin Technologies is volunteering our consultancy service, provisioning the equipment and travelling to Barbados to setup the system onsite. We have created this appeal on behalf of Ocean Acres to raise funds to purchase and export the equipment required.

Ocean Acres shelters in excess of 100 dogs and puppies and 80 cats and kittens, the numbers change from time to time but they are always over their actual capacity.
